This vase is textured by a roller I carved, inspired by a Costa Rican palm tree - where each branch nestled into the one below and beside it, there’s a gentle curve that intrigues me. The East Creek Anagama firing lays a sweet layer of ash in the hollows that fuses in the high temperatures and enhances the texture. This one has some sweet carbon trapping.
